The Ocean Point House is a private 4 bedroom, 3 full bath home that is situated on the shores of Little Kennebec Bay in Roque Bluffs, Maine. Located in the quiet, private community of Duck Cove, the Ocean Point House has the catbird seat of this part of the coast with spectacular elevated water views that guests will marvel at their whole vacation. This house takes full advantage of its grand views with its large windows up-stairs and down, allowing vacationers to have almost continuous ocean observations of the ever changing sea scenery. Ocean Point House has a diverse waterfront with cobble shores and a set of stairs to access the shorefront. This wonderful location and house is a great Maine experience waiting to happen for people who want to get away.

The Ocean Point House accommodates 6 guests with its 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. The house is laid out in a comfortable and inviting manner, with the living room with gas log fireplace, dining area and well-appointed kitchen with coffee bar as well as 3 guest bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the main level. Just down the hall from the kitchen renters will find the laundry area and the center piece of this house - its large ocean view sunroom. This space is perfect for spending breakfast, lunch and dinner, or just relaxing with friends and family while admiring the ocean scenery. The house also features a wonderful water view great room with living room, dining area and open kitchen. The water view living room is a comfortable spot for reading or quiet conversation friends and family. Large windows that span the front of the house provide renters with fantastic views of the ocean, local lobstermen pulling in their traps, and the ever changing scenery.

Three bedrooms and two full bathrooms are located on the main level. Two bedrooms – one with a queen bed and the other with twin bunk bed – share one of the full bathrooms. The third bedroom, offers a queen bed and ensuite full bathroom.

The lower level of the house boasts a spacious family room with TV as well as a bedroom with queen sized bed and full bathroom. Large windows in the lower level serve to let in the sunshine and provide gorgeous views of the ocean. Guests sleeping on this level with be rewarded with ocean views right from your bed. What a perfect place to wake up and start your day.

This house is located on nature’s front porch and the outdoor opportunities here are endless. If you’re an observer who likes to soak up the awe of nature or a doer who prefers to experience it – you’re in the right place! If you’re a kayaker, the point is a perfect location to start off your ocean excursion to explore the bay and surrounding islands. The Ocean Point House offers an electric pulley system for lowering your kayaks to the shore and drawing them back up the banking after paddling and exploring the bay. Wonderful area guided sea kayak tours are also available or the local kayaking company will deliver rental kayaks right to your door.

Hikers will find many opportunities for exploration. Download the AllHikes app and head off for daily adventures. Favorite hikes in the Downeast area include the beautiful trails at the Roque Bluffs State Park, the Bold Coast Trails, Western Head and Boot Head Preserve in Cutler, Great Wass Island Preserve on Beals Island and coastal conservancy trails in Lubec. Visitors will also want to plan a day trip or two to the famous Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor and the Schoodic Peninsula in Winter Harbor. Hiking, boat tours, whale watching, shopping and fabulous restaurants await you in the Bar Harbor area which is approximately 1 ½ hours away.

If you are looking to get out on the water and experience the dramatic Maine coast from a different viewpoint, you will want to consider one of the boat tours in the Downeast region. Vacationers can hop aboard the Barbara Frost out of Cutler to view the Atlantic Puffins on Machias Seal Island or take simple scenic bay tours to enjoy the diverse wildlife and sea scapes. Guests can also travel to Eastport for schooner cruises and spectacular whale watching trips as well as deep sea fishing. Whatever your interest is in experiencing Maine, this area has it!

Spending the day at the house is also a great way to relax and unwind. Just remember to bring your favorite book and curl up on the couch to read or lounge in the sunroom or on the deck. Either way, you will find that your troubles just melt away.

For guests who need to check in with the office while away, the Ocean Point House offers a separate home office. This provides a “quiet space” to answer emails, attend a Zoom meeting or handle sensitive paperwork.

Amenities at the Ocean Point House include linens, pillows, blankets, bath towels, clothes washer & dryer, dishwasher, Internet access, Smart TV, coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, pots & pans, dishes, propane grill, propane lobster cooker, etc. A state of the art water system has also been installed at the home. Renters will enjoy beautifully clear and pure water from the Life Source Water System.

Rental fees (2022):

This house rents from Saturday to Saturday. Rental fees cover rent and an exit cleaning. The Maine State lodging tax (9%) and a separate, refundable damage deposit ($500.00) will be added to the rental rates listed below.

July 2-August 26, 2022: $2,000/week
August 27-September 9, 2022: $1,600/week
September 10-October 29, 2022: $1,100/week

Payments for rental fees are accepted by check, money order, or Visa/MasterCard. Payment of a down payment to secure the rental is due within 14 days of making your reservation. The balance payment and a separate, refundable damage deposit are due 30 days before arrival.

Ocean Point House does not allow smoking or pets on the premises.
Renters will have to travel on approximately 2 miles of unpaved roads to reach the rental property.

This house is 10 minutes from Roque Bluffs State Park, 1 hour from Eastport, Lubec and Campobello Island, and 1 hour from Acadia’s Schoodic Peninsula and 1 ½ hours from Bar Harbor and the main portion of Acadia National Park. The house is also 2 hours from Bangor International Airport, 4 1/2 hours from the Portland Jet Port, 6 ½ hours from Boston and 10 hours from New York City.
