Rental fee covers up to 6 occupants (adults and children included). Rental fee does not include Maine state lodging tax. That fee is added to the rental fee.
Reservation deposit of 50% of the rent + state tax total is required at time of reservation. Balance of all fees due 30 days prior to arrival.
A $500.00 refundable security deposit is required along with the remainder payment balance for damage/excessive cleaning costs.
One dog is allowed with permission. A pet fee of $100/dog is required and there is a limit of 1 dog per rental.
No sheets, towels, kitchen towels or beach towels are provided. Renters must bring their own. Limit of one (1) dog allowed at rental. Additional pet fee of $100 is required. This house is "off the grid" and is powered by solar batteries and generator. Occupant limit = 6 occupants
Hearts of Maine's Grand Lake Beach House sits on the sandy beach shore of beautiful West Grand Lake in the outskirts of the town of Grand Lake Stream, Maine.
It's one of the most private lakefront homes our company has to offer and it provides guests a lake lodge feel with its open post and beam construction.
For the vacationer who wants to fish, canoe, kayak and explore the inland waters of the north Maine woods while staying in first class accommodations, this 4 bedroom 2 full bath house is one of the ultimate places to stay.
The village of Grand Lake Stream and it surrounding area has long been known to be a fisherman's and sightseer's paradise and of the most sought after destinations in the state. The Grand Lake Beach House sits on the crystal clear waters shore of 14,000 acre West Grand Lake, one of the state's premiere landlocked salmon water bodies and also offers high quality lake trout and smallmouth bass fisheries.
Anglers start fishing West Grand Lake in May for all three species and the good fishing continues to the end of the open-water fishing season. The Grand Lake Beach House is located just a short distance away from some of the lake's prime fishing grounds and it's also situated only 4 miles away from the world renowned landlocked salmon fishery of Grand Lake Stream.
The Grand Lake Beach House can accommodate 6 guests and features four spacious bedrooms and two full baths. The main guest room and full size bath is located on the first floor. The master bedroom with its queen size bed is located on the second floor along with a spacious full bath, another guest bedroom with a queen size bed and an open dormitory guest room with three twin beds.
The house also features a well equipped kitchen with all cookware, place settings, utensils, cupboard space, dishwasher, gas stove and refrigerator. The living room offers guests a relaxing space to put their feet up and gather with friends and loved ones in front of its fieldstone fireplace and take in the beautiful lake views. The dining area also takes in the warmth of the center fireplace and the water views while enjoying meals with family and friends.
Guests will also love the outdoor dining and grilling deck while watching the sights and sounds of the lake. There is also a cozy screened-in porch with fireplace that is a wonderful place to take in the early morning with a cup of coffee or the sunset lake views with a cracking fire in a bug-free environment.
The house also boasts a waterfront sand beach complete with a canoe, three kayaks, and picnic table. The house also comes with paddles and life jackets for all boats available. There is also a basement rec-room with ping pong table.
The Grand Lake Beach House's sandy waterfront and crystal clear waters offer vacationers great swimming and shorefront fishing opportunities, not to mention a chance to fly fish on Grand Lake Stream, one of Maine's top five landlocked salmon streams, located only 7 miles from the house.
A short drive into the village is a scenic foray into the past as you pass by small quaint guide's houses, fishing lodges and the famed clear water Grand Lake Stream. Stop by the historic Pine Tree Store and lend an ear to the fishermen's liar's bench and hear tales of the wilderness or purchase one of the store's wooden guide pack baskets or choose from the many hand tied salmon and trout flies.
You can also rent a boat and troll on West Grand Lake for lake trout and landlocked salmon. There are many small brook trout ponds dotting the area where anglers can fly, spin or worm fish to their heart's content.
Some of the best moose watching opportunities in the state are here and many helpful people or guides to help show you the way to the most frequented moose watering holes. This storied village and wilderness area are waiting for you!
Bed linens, bath towels, beach towels, and kitchen towels are not provided with this rental. Renters must plan to bring their own.
The house is 3 hours northeast of Bangor and 6½ hours from Portland. It is also 7½ hours from Boston and 12 hours from New York City. It's 1½ hours from Machias and 3½ hours from Bar Harbor.
The house rents from Saturday to Saturday. Available from the beginning of June to the beginning of October. Check-in time 3:00 PM and check-out time 10:00 AM the following Saturday.
A 50% reservation deposit is required to reserve the house and is due at reservation. Balance of rental fees, taxes and damage deposit due 30 days prior to arrival.
Dogs (limit of 1 dog) are welcome with permission (additional pet fee required noted below). Smoking is not permitted in the house or on the grounds.
